Even if you’re just thinking about selling your home, it’s a great idea to get Stan’s advice, and be assured that you won’t be pressured to make any quick decisions. It’s just nice to know the current value of your home, how long it might take to sell, and what the alternatives are available if you’re looking to change locations or type of home, so feel free to ask.
Like most other commodities, supply and demand determines the general market value of your home. Stan will research the asking and selling prices of similar homes in your area in order to advise you on setting a price.
As a general rule, you’ll want to de-clutter, de-personalize, make repairs, and present your home to potential buyers in a clean, tidy, warm and inviting environment. Stan will walk through your home with you to make suggestions.
For your convenience, personal safety and to safeguard your belongings, we urge you to never open your door to a stranger wanting to look around because there’s a For Sale sign. Any valid potential buyer should contact Stan (or any licenced realtor) to set up an appointment.
That said, it’s best for you to leave while your home is being shown. This allows potential buyers to imagine themselves in the home, rather than feeling that they are intruding in someone else’s space. You don’t want them to feel rushed, as the more time they spend, the more likely they are to buy. Most showings take less than 30 minutes though, and Stan will work around any “no show” times you need to set.
